Umiko - Current Project

Currently im working a new character called Umiko this was going to be my entry for a low poly compation on 3DTotal.com. I started this character a bit late into the compatition and was not able to finish it in time it is currently a W.I.P. I have recently come up against some issues and want to post my progress here. I currently working through a pipeline for this character that i found on Game Artist: http://www.game-artist.net/forums/vbarticles.php?do=article&articleid=53. Ben Clark is a god in my eyes for creating this walkthrough it does not go into full detail as this tutorial presumes you have a good understanding of the tools in use. I have currently created the low - poly mesh imported it into Zbrush and detailed it yo to around about 11 million poly's also i have reimported the mesh back to Maya and UV mapped the character and armor. The current stage im at is creating the Normal map and ambient map from maya using the Transfer Sampler (or Surface Sampler) in pre Maya8. I will Soon post some images here with an overview of that you see.
